What is a Blocked Account?
Before starting your studies you must know how to open a Deutsche blocked account in Germany which you can used to prove that you have sufficient money to support yourself or your parents have enough to support you while you are in Germany.
This document is called Proof of financial resources. They will asked this document when you want to apply for an entry visa. You will also need to show it when you want to apply for a resident permit in Germany. In most cases it is required to have a minimum of 8040 Euros in one of the German account for a year and a maximum that you can withdraw is 670 Euros per month. When should i open a Blocked Account?
Blocked account should be opened while you are in your country even though some embassies do not required this as some of them allow to take foreign DD of the worth amount and later own you will have to deposit that amount in one of the banks in Germany.
Note: It is always better to consult the embassy, they will give a better option.
Is this money enough for the entire duration?
Even though it will be better, but it will not be enough. The answer is NO. When you arrive you will need to pay your tuition fee for universities that take tuition fee, enrolling fee for enrollment at the university(which includes living cost, rent and registration).
Semester and Registration fees(Tuition fee) can go up to 700 Euros. This some is higher than the monthly limit of your blocked bank account.Base on this if you do not have sufficient money with you, then you will not be able to pay your tuition and semester fees.
